Short Summary of my Autobiography
I was born on OCTOBER 16 in Alcala, Pangasinan, Philippines. My father's name is RAY DUQUE SR of Alcala, Pangasinan and my mother's name is ZOILA AUSTRIA DUQUE of San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. I have one sister and three brothers. They are EMY DUQUE-MAGPANTAY, RAY 'JUNE' DUQUE JR I, RAY DUQUE JR II who died at the age of two AND RAY 'BENG' DUQUE IV. My father really loves his name because he name us all RAYS.
We migrated and settled in Manila. Before we settled in Manila, My parents used to lived in Masbate, Masbate; Alcala, Pangasinan and after I was born, we settled in Manila. On my elementary days, I studied in San Beda. Most of my playmates in Manila studied in San Beda. We were a Bedan. My idol in basketball at that time was Carlos Loyzaga of San Beda and YCO. I used to go to the Rizal Memorial to watch the NCAA Basketball Tournament. We moved from Manila to Quezon City. During my High School days, I studied at the different schools. I studied at UST, NU, Public School and Arellano in Legarda, Manila. When we were in Quezon City, especially in the 1960s, I was in the Philippine Movies as a BIT PLAYER (EXTRA). I have a relative who was a FILM EDITOR of the Philippine Movies. He was always calling me to be a BIT PLAYER IN THE MOVIES. His name is TEOFILO de LEON. I asked him to give me a break to be an actor but it was not happened. I really wanted to be an actor and to be well known. Some of my cousins and relatives in my father's side call me Ray "BOY ARTISTA" because I wanted to be an actor. Also in the 60s, I started to learn the ballroom dancing but I stopped dancing it. I was dancing at that time because I just want to show my BROTHER RAY/JUN who is a very good ballroom dancer that I can dance too. I stopped dancing when he went to Mindanao. I also had a dance group. The name was Wildcats. I went to College at the University of the East and took up Business Administration in Accounting Class 1970.
After my college days, I went to the USA. I went to some different States before I worked in New York. I met LYNDA in New York. We got married on MARCH 16 at St. Nicholas of Tolentine in Jamaica, New York. We have two grown children. The names of our children are RAZEL DUQUE and RONALD DUQUE. I worked with different companies in New York City. After several years we moved to Los Angeles, California for two and a half years. We came back to New York after those years. My parents bought a house in 1982 and we were living there. We bought the house to my parents in 1988. We joined a Filipino Association in 1984. The name is United Pilipino Circle (UPC). We became like brothers and sisters with that organization. We are close to each other. In the late 1980s, I planned to have a reunion on my Mother's side Family (Austria) Name. It didn't work out at the start when we initially visualize a family reunion but after more than ten years of planning, we had our First Family Reunion at Las Vegas, Nevada in November 2002. Now, we are doing our Family reunion every two years. In 1995, we also organized a Duque Clan Reunion at Long Island, New York. In 1990, I joined the Knights of Columbus, a Fraternal Catholic Organization. The name is Jamaica Council 337. We are now living in Queens, New York City.
